Introducing Niagara Builder Sheldon Sulman

Sheldon Sulman

“My father was a builder in the Niagara area and as a child, I used to play around the sites and watch them work,” Sheldon says. “As soon as I got my drivers license, I worked the Summer as a “skilled” unskilled labourer. From the beginning, I was involved in the vernacular of building.”

Sheldon describes himself as a student of the built environment. He has never stopped immersing himself in new ideas and concepts, attending trade shows, seeking out architecturally significant works wherever he travels, and soaking up the latest from books and magazines. He is also an avid photographer and has built a library of resources for himself and his clients of every design and building concept he could get his hands on.

“New ideas inspire me. I am inspired by the built environment.”

Sheldon’s years of experience have provided him with a brilliant attention-to-detail, which is evident in his work. “Because I am always learning about the built environment, after all these years I can look at something and know immediately that it’s not right or it needs something else,” says Sheldon.

He describes his job as being able to see the project through his clients’ eyes and translate it for them. This had lead to a hugely varied portfolio of unique custom builds, additions, restorations, and outbuildings – from traditional to ultramodern.

“One of my strengths is taking the infinite wealth of ideas that have been applied to the built environment and sharing them with my clients. I have very good visualization and ability to communicate that with the client – and most importantly the trades doing the work.”

Sheldon’s building experience brings into being his large network of talented trades, enabling him to achieve clients’ dream projects. “Clients choose me because they know I will build the house that they want,” says Sheldon.

“Our team have a great passion for what they do. They take their jobs personally. We take it personally.”

He is one of the few remaining builders that is onsite with the clients every step of the way. By personally seeing the process through, Sheldon is able to provide consistent quality. “If there are windows to be picked out, for example, I come to the window store and sit down and review every window,” says Sheldon. “I do that because it is part of the process.”

I am commenting to let you know what a terrific experience my daughter enjoyed reading through your web page. She noticed a wide variety of pieces, with the inclusion of what it is like to have an awesome helping style to have the rest without hassle grasp some grueling matters.
